Funding from the American Academy of Neurology, Rappaport Foundation, National Parkinson Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and philantropic gifts have allowed me to characterize ways to improve neurology care for racial and linguistic minority populations. My publications are in the Journal of the American Heart Association, Neurology, Movement Disorders, and other peer-reviewed journals. I have also disseminated my work through invited grand rounds, CME courses, and presentations at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting, the American Neurological Association Annual Meeting, the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society International Congress, and the Physicians for a National Health Program Annual Meeting.

I have created mechanisms for trainees to develop academic projects focused on neurologic health equity, including the Partners Neurology Residency Program Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion for neurology residents, the MGH Neurology Community Health Diversity and Inclusion Internship for undergraduate and graduate students, and the MGH Neurology Youth Stroke Education program for high school students.  My mentees have published first-author manuscripts, presented their research in national forums, and been recognized with American Academy of Neurology Diversity Scholars, Fulbright Scholars, and Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars awards.
