Research Narrative
Travis P. Baggett, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS), a faculty Physician-Investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the Director of Research at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, the Co-Director of the HMS Fellowship in General Medicine and Primary Care, an MGH Research Scholar in population health sciences, and the Principal Investigator of the Homelessness, Housing & Health Lab in the MGH Division of General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Baggett maintains an active portfolio of community-based research focusing on the health and health care needs of people experiencing homelessness, with a longstanding emphasis on understanding and addressing cancer health equity, substance use disorders, and mortality patterns in this population. His research has been supported by extramural grants from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Cancer Institute, and the American Cancer Society, in addition to intramural awards from MGH. For more than 15 years, we has worked as a shelter-based primary care provider with Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.
