The Macosko Lab works to develop new genomics technologies to identify novel cell populations, especially to understand how they contribute to disease states in pathological contexts.

Dr. Macosko received his doctorate from The Rockefeller University, where he worked with Cori Bargmann (C. elegans neuroscience). His postdoctoral work was in Steve McCarroll’s lab at HMS and the Broad Institute. He is also a board-certified psychiatrist, and practices in the Massachusetts General Hospital outpatient clinic one afternoon a week.
