Dr. Brown's research focuses on using human induced pluripotent stem cells derived from patients with schizophrenia as a tool to investigate cellular biology and drug response. In collaboration with both Dr. Roffman and Dr. Roy Perlis, director of the Center for Experimental Drugs and Diagnostics at MGH, she is examining characteristics of stem cells derived from a cohort of schizophrenia patients who carry specific genetic variants in the folate metabolic pathway. She is also examining drug treatment response in stem cells from patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia.
She is a recipient of a 2013 NARSAD Young Investigator Grant and the APA Early Academic Career Award on Schizophrenia Research, as well as a 2014 Dupont-Warren Fellowship awarded through Harvard Department of Psychiatry.
