Research Narrative
Dr. Goodman is a graduate of the University of Oxford, England, where he received his D. Phil, and Harvard Medical Schoool, where he received his M.D. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and his Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Instructor on the faculty of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Goodman has clinical expertise in all forms of liver disease (hepatology), and seens and treats patients with liver disease including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, biliary liver disease, and patients wtih abnormal liver imaging and liver tumors. He has a particular interest in genetic causes of liver disease such as Wilson's and A1-antityrpsin, and in liver disease related to metabolic diorders.
Dr. Goodman is actively engaged in basic research relating to metabolic causes and consequences of liver disease.
