His clinical and research interests focus on using clinical neurophysiology tools (primarily surface EMG, inertial measurement units, and EEG) and signal processing techniques to aid phenotyping and diagnosis of movement disorders and functional neurological disorders (FND), and to guide treatment selection and response monitoring for medications, rehabilitation, brain stimulation, and other treatment interventions. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, residency in adult neurology and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology – electromyography (EMG) at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and a fellowship in movement disorders and neurophysiology at the University of Toronto. He and his wife Natalie are the happy parents of 5 energetic children.
