I am semi-retired, but am involved with several research projects. My interests are in patient safety, teamwork, education and learning. The DACCPM has a close association with The Center for Medical Simulation for Medical Simulation, which was one of the first the simulation programs in the world and continues to advance patient safety by teaching and study of the actions of healthcare providers and educators using simulation. The program focus has been on crises management and teamwork and specializing in instructor training via its highly regarded learner-centered approach. More recently, CMS is addressing organizational culture change via simulation related and other innovative interventions. Research generally studies provider behavior, learning and instructional methods.
