Research Narrative
Her overarching research theme centers on validating epidemiological findings through clinical trials and translating these results into daily practices to improve population well-being. Her current work focuses on two main areas: she dedicates half of her time to developing and refining statistical methods for enhancing clinical trial designs, and the other half to conducting behavioral intervention trials. She has led several NIH-funded studies examining the impact of social interactions on brain health.
She established a Professional Interest Area (PIA) titled 'Clinical Trials Advancements and Outcomes' within the International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), supported by the Alzheimer’s Association. This PIA provides an international platform for researchers to discuss innovative clinical trial methods, outcome measures sensitive to trial effects, and unique non-pharmacological trials. She is also a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and serves as a statistical and senior editor for multiple dementia-focused journals.
