Dr. Powe specializes in treating endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, in pregnancy. She co-directs the Mass General Diabetes in Pregnancy Program, a collaboration between the Diabetes Unit and the Maternal Fetal Medicine division.

Dr. Powe's research focuses on the genetics and physiology of hyperglycemia in pregnancy. 

Her research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program.
