attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity; central nervous system stimulants; methylphenidate; opioid use disorder; propylamines; substance-related disorders Dr. Wilens' research interests include the relationship among attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders; and the treatment of ADHD, substance use disorders, and juvenile bipolar disorder across the lifespan. He also studies the misuse of stimulant and other prescription medications; as well as the implementation of screening in behavioral health clinics.  His peer-reviewed articles concerning these and related topics number more than 340, and are published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Psychiatry, and Pediatrics. Dr. Wilens has also published more than 90 book chapters, (co)edited 6 books, and 400 abstracts and presentations for national and international scientific meetings.
