Her main research goal is to better understand the mechanisms linking cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), arteriolosclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) to identify novel therapeutic targets. To this aim, she combines advanced in vivo and ex vivo neuroimaging in humans and quantitative histopathology, gaining more insight in the clearance mechanisms of amyloid β and the role of perivascular spaces in CAA.
