alzheimer's disease; cerebral amyloid angiopathy; cerebral small vessel disease; neuroimaging; neuropathology Dr. Perosa is a researcher with a clinical background in Neurology. After completing medical school at the University of Magdeburg, Germany, she trained as a neurologist and focused her research on ageing and neurodegenerative disease. Her main research goal is to better understand the mechanisms linking cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), arteriolosclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) to identify novel therapeutic targets. To this aim, she combines advanced in vivo and ex vivo neuroimaging in humans and quantitative histopathology, gaining more insight in the clearance mechanisms of amyloid β and the role of perivascular spaces in CAA.
