cystic fibrosis; cystic fibrosis-related diabetes; metabolic disorders; skeletal health; type 1 diabetes; type 2 diabetes Dr. Putman is an adult and pediatric endocrinologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the MGH Diabetes Research Center.  She cares for adults with cystic fibrosis (CF) in the MGH Adult CF Program and also sees patients with bone disease and diabetes in the MGH Endocrine Associates and Diabetes Center clinics. Her research focuses on (1) improving our understanding and management of CF related endocrine disorders, including CF related diabetes (CFRD) and CF related bone disease, (2) investigating diabetes technologies in at-risk patient populations, including rural health, pregnancy, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, hospitalized patients, and CFRD, (3) studying tools to optimize metabolic health in different patient populations, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, and (4) participating in multicenter clinical trials investigating important interventions for advancing the field of diabetes research.
