Driven by a fascination of the brain and compassion towards those suffering from neurological disease, I have dedicated my life to neuroscience and clinical neurology. I am a vascular neurologist within the MGH Stroke Division, and I treat patients with acute and chronic cerebrovascular disorders.  My research interests are focused on cerebrovascular contributions to neurodegenerative disease. Unfortunately, we have a cursory understanding of the molecular mechanisms that drive age-related cerebrovascular disease and his has limited our ability to develop preventive therapies. Currently I am working in the laboratory of Evan Macosko to apply novel spatial genomics techniques on human tissue to improve our understanding of cerebrovascular contributions to dementia. These next generation multi-omics techniques will be required to understand the complex cellular and molecular interactions that drive cerebrovascular disease pathogenesis.
