I am a board-certified oncologist with expertise in deep learning (DL)-computer vision and cancer genomics. Our prior work has applied end-to-end DL to data acquired in standard oncologic care (e.g., histopathology [H&E], CT, MRI) to accurately infer tumor genomics and properties of the microenvironment (TME), and to discover new associations with therapeutic outcomes across multiple tumor types. To build upon this work, our group uses multi-modal DL to repurpose clinical data from large patient populations to identify and dissect new mechanisms underlying therapeutic resistance, which could have transformative impact for drug optimization.
