Research Narrative
Our multidisciplinary team of scientists, with expertise in medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and radiochemistry, is dedicated to developing and applying innovative tools for imaging molecules within the living human brain using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). As a non-invasive imaging technique, PET has gained widespread recognition for its exceptional value in Central Nervous System (CNS) drug discovery. This powerful method yields crucial quantitative biomarker data, such as target expression levels and target occupancy measurements, which are otherwise unattainable in clinical settings.
Collaborating with various groups, we investigate molecular changes in the living brain throughout the progression of disease to enhance our understanding of underlying disease mechanisms and to facilitate the development of innovative therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, our team is actively engaged in additional projects aimed at creating new methods and tools for imaging novel molecular targets. These advancements will bolster our ability to translate fundamental research findings into effective treatments for human illnesses.
