Dr. Christina Psaros is the Associate Director and a staff psychologist in the Behavioral Medicine Program at MGH, and an AssociateProfessor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS). She is a Co-Director of the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research Unit in the Division of Clinical Research at MGH. She also has a leadership role as the Associate Director of Implementation Science in the Bio-Behavioral and Community Science Core at the Harvard University Center for AIDS research (CFAR). Dr. Psaros received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Drexel University in 2008 (Health Psychology concentration), and did her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at MGH/HMS.

Dr. Psaros' clinical practice focuses on women's mental health, particularly the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders as they occur during infertility, pregnancy, and the postpartum. Dr. Psaros' research focus is on understanding psychosocial aspects of HIV care and prevention, and developing interventions to support health, particularly among women. She has active projects in both the U.S. and Southern Africa. Dr. Psaros has over 120 peer-reviewed publications, and has written two book chapters. She has engaged in landmark HIV prevention trials including Partners PrEP and HPTN 083 where she led the development of interventions to support adherence to biomedical HIV prevention products (i.e., pre-exposure prophylaxis, PrEP), and is the first auhtor on the Lifesteps for PrEP manual, which is part of the CDC compendium of evidence-based interventions and best practices for HIV prevention. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer for over 20 peer-reviewed journals. She also mentors and supervises trainees in the Behavioral Medicine Program.

She is also the President and Co-Founder of Equilact, Inc., an organization that aims to support breastfeeding among womne in resource constrained settings.
