Dr. Goldstein currently manages a research program focused on improving the care of patients with neurological emergencies. With support from NIH, industry, and nonprofit sources, his team performs clinical trials in diseases such as stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and emergency anticoagulation reversal.

He is the Principal Investigator for a New England-wide consortium of centers for the NIH-funded SIREN network of emergency care clinical trials. Dr Goldstein has lectured nationally and internationally, and has published over 120 original peer-reviewed research articles in the medical literature.
