adolescent obesity; exercise; lifestyle factors; obesity prevention; polycystic ovary syndrome Rachel Whooten is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston, Massachusetts, where she is a member of the Divisions of Pediatric Endocrinology and General Academic Pediatrics. She graduated from Williams College and Boston University School of Medicine, then completed her residency in Pediatrics at UCSF, moving back to Boston to complete her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at MGH. She has a longstanding interest in community-based strategies for healthy lifestyles, specifically relating to physical activity promotion in childcare and schools. She is currently supported by a K23 award from NIDDK addressing physical activity as a potential strategy for PCOS prevention.
