Dr. Sabet's research interests include radiation detection, therapy and nuclear instrumentation with a focus on PET, SPECT and CT applications:
  • Design, simulation, instrumentation and development of imaging systems and radiation detectors
  • Detectors for clinical and pre-clinical PET, and SPECT
  • Scintillator- and semiconductor-based photon counting detectors for CT imaging
  • Development of PET system with transformable gantry
  • Intraoperative gamma-positron probes for surgical applications
  • Detector front-end electronics using ASIC and FPGA
  • High resolution scintillation detector fabrication
