anxiety; anxiety disorders; cardiac health; depression; heart failure Christopher Celano, MD, is an attending psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital, an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and the Associate Director of the CPRP. He is the recipient of a K23 career development award sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to develop a psychological intervention to improve health behaviors in patients with heart failure. He has published over 35 articles with the team, is an active co-investigator on several projects, and serves as the project director of health behavior trials in patients with coronary artery disease and diabetes. His areas of interest include the impact of depression and anxiety on cardiac health as well as the promotion of positive psychological states and health behaviors in patients with mental illness and cardiovascular disease.
