anxiety; anxiety disorders; cardiac health; depression; heart failure Christopher Celano, MD, is an attending psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital, an Associate Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and the Associate Director of the CPRP. Dr. Celano’s research focuses on the development and implementation of interventions to promote well-being and health behavior adherence. He has served as the Principal Investigator of NIH- and foundation-funded studies to develop and implement health behavior interventions, including an ongoing R01-funded project to evaluate the efficacy of a psychological intervention to promote adherence in heart failure. He also has served as the Principal or Co-Investigator of multiple other projects related to health behavior promotion or the use of collaborative care to better identify and treat depression and anxiety disorders in individuals with heart disease. He has published over 100 articles, including over 60 original research articles and five meta-analyses, and he has presented the results of his work at both national and international conferences.
