Kassem Safa MD, FASN is the Kidney Transplant Program Director for Living Donation in the Transplant Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He spends most of his time seeing inpatients and outpatients, before and after kidney transplantation as well as leading the Living Donor Kidney Transplant Team. His interests include increasing access to living donor kidney transplantation, prolonging patients and graft survival post-transplant, metabolic, infectious, and malignant complications after kidney transplantation, and recurrent disease post kidney transplantation. He has written numerous articles and chapters, and is an active member of the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology.
